About Me
I am honored to be LPSSA's 6th grade English Language Arts & History teacher. I received my Master of Education in Teacher Leadership (May 2018) and my multiple subject teaching credential (May 2017) from California Lutheran University. I have supplemental authorizations in English and for English Learners. Originally from Minnesota, I have been a part of the Camarillo education community for over fifteen years (LPSSA, DLA, PVSEA, Mesa Union School, CAPE). Further, I have a Certificate in Public Relations from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Gustavus Adolphus College (Saint Peter, MN). I am a children's and young adult literature enthusiast, a young adult fiction writer, and have studied creative writing at both UCLA and at the University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK). I have three children, Lillian (21), Peter (19), and Marabelle (14), a Siberian Husky named Maya (5), a Golden Retriever named Maria (4), a cat name Sarabi (5), and a Great Pyrenees (3) named Maisel.
